Rupert Raymond McCafferty, 87, of 2001 Meadow Court died at 8:13 p.m. Thursday in Culver Hospital following a short illness. He was born Aug 18, 1896 in Boone County near Max, a son of Charles and Syntha Plew McCafferty. He was married at Lebanon in 1921 to Edith Endicott who survives. He attended schools at Shannondale and had been employed by the State Highway Department for 18 years before becoming an interior decorator, retiring four years ago. He was a member of the Shannondale Presbyterian Church and Senior Citizens. Surviving are two sons, David of Crawfordsville and Charles of Marion; a daughter, Betty Jo Faulkinbury of Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Miss Nova McCafferty and one great grandson. Two sisters and a brother are deceased. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Burkhart Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Fisk officiating. Burial will be in Shannondale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday. - typed by kbz
